Benefits of Face and Body Oils 'My Faves"

Many of you hear the word OIL and immediately think"Why would I want to use oil on my face?"
If this is you, let me shed some light on the Amazing things you will experience once you give it a try!!

 BETTER ABSORPTION

"If you apply an oil before your anti-aging cream, the oil molecules behave like tiny Trojan horses, tricking the skin into letting active ingredients—like retinol, glycolic acid, and vitamin C—deeper into the skin and closer to the collagen-producing fibroblasts, all without irritating the surface."

FREE-RADICAL PROTECTION

"Many botanical oils, including argan, passion fruit, and African marula oils, are potent antioxidants. In the morning, massage a few drops onto clean skin, wait two minutes, and apply sunscreen or foundation as usual."

IMPROVED SKIN TOLERANCE

Oils can prevent the irritation caused by some anti-aging ingredients. Argan, yangu, and borage-seed oils all decrease inflammation. Smooth one on after your nightly anti-aging treatment. A few drops will be enough to cover your face and calm the skin."

PLUMPING SKIN

"In your late 30s, wrinkles suddenly look deeper because the skin's natural oils decrease, the moisture barrier breaks down, and the skin dries out. Most creams contain a little oil, but not enough to make a big difference in water loss. Because oils are lipophilic, or fat loving, they pass though the lipid layer of the skin faster, preventing water loss and plumping skin with moisture more effectively. Olive and coconut oils are great moisturize

I have spent years trying oils from every cosmetic line and these are a few I use on a daily basis!

This emollient facial oil provides a concentrated boost of intensive moisture to comfort very dry skin. Clarins’ #1 selling body oil — with 100% pure plant extracts including Rosemary, Geranium and Mint — helps firm, tone and improve elasticity, reducing the appearance of stretch marks resulting from pregnancy. Hazelnut Oil softens, smooths and hydrates by locking in moisture. Aromatic natural botanicals promote an overall feeling of well-being. Preservative-free.

This 100% Pure Argan Oil is a legendary oil that's rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, and grown organically in Morocco. With its multitasking benefits, Argan Oil can be used for many areas including hydrating and nourishing skin, as a daily moisturizer, skin treatment, treating spilt ends, and softening cuticles. It's gentle enough to use on all skin types and is believed to help with skin conditions including acne. 3rd Annual Gatsby Gala Presented by Jess James at City Club Wilmington,NC

The 1920s-1940s is my favorite time period for makeup!
When I was asked to play makeup for this event I did not hesitate...
For Me, this was playtime! A chance to test my skill set and learn how to perfect period makeup.

I wanted to create a modern version by using less foundation and powder.
For flawless coverage with a smooth creamy finish my go to is MAC Studio Sculpt foundation set with Serenity+ Scott Powder Foundation http://serenityscottbeauty.com . The sculpt looks and feels like skin and the powder foundation is light absorbing perfect for photos and film!

The eyes are a deep chocolate burgundy and black with silver pearl.....
The trick to creating dimension with shadow is to use a cream shadow and layer a powder shadow with shimmer (pearlized particles, glitter) on top then spritz with a mist like Urban Decay All Nighter or even water!

On the lips I skipped liner and used lip conditioner followed by 2 layers of lipstick (MAC Party line and Film Noir Lipstick). For a matte finish try placing a tissue over your mouth then dust with a loose powder.  I hope you can use these techniques for your next soiree.... or you can just book an appointment with me for parties and special event events!
